Isis Rucé was born in Mexico City. She is self taught and was educated in the fine arts from an early age thanks to her father, who was also a painter.

Throughout the 23 years since her first exhibition she has worked on various projects such as music, scenography and the design and production of costumes for plays, as well as with various techniques: drawing, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, oil, and graphic arts such as engraving and monotype.

Her images are spells to ward off the monsters that human beings create in an endless and unacceptable daily rite for being aberrant and contradictory.
